Every Time I Die

Nýlega tók ég viðtal við söngvara hljómsveitarinnar Every Time I Die, en sveitin var á þessum tíma nýlega búin að senda frá sér plötuna "The Big Dirty". Hér að neðan má sjá hvað okkur fór á milli:

First of who am i "talking" to and what is your part in Every Time I die?

This is keith buckley, and my "part" is huge. HA HA HA!! (i was talking about my private part). im the singer

To start of i want to congratulations you on new album The Big Dirty, how has the album been received?
It seems to be going very well. all the reviews are good, the right amount of idiotic people hate it, so we're happy. the true test will be when we start playing new songs live

This is a your fourth full length, how does it differ from your previous releases?
It way fucking better. WAY better
ETID
What is the meaning behind "The Big Dirty"?
It is what it is, man. very self explanatory. not much to think about, just a feeling you get from listening to it. more heart than head

What about the band where do you guys come from, and is there a big musical
tradition in your hometown?
We're from buffalo newy york, which i think gets more annual snowfall than iceland. the tradition was strong when we started, but the scene here is pretty weak nowadays. there are alot of bands doing amazing stuff, but everyone thinks theyre too cool to give anyone else any credit

How long has Every Time I Die been a band.
For about 9 years now

Do you guys have to support yourself with work, or does the band give you enough in the bank to keep the finances OK?
No and no. i dont work outside of the band, but its not enough to get me a car that actually runs or a nice piece of property. i get by. im livin the dream

Do you guys consider yourself a hardcore band, rock band or don't give a shit about labels like that?
If we HAD to classify ourselves, id say a rock band only because we have a rock band attitude. and i dont mean dickheads like nickelback attitude, i mean we have fun playing and we work really fuckin hard at it

What is it with hardcore bands and bass players?
it seems that you, along with allot of other bands in the genre cant keep your bass players.
Theyre all screwy. every single bass player, no matter what band, is the oddest one of the bunch

You guys seem to tour allot, Whats your next destination? any big tours coming up?.. any plans of hitting Europe any time soon?
Yea we'd like to get to europe early in the new year, but as of right now we are leaving for a US tour with underoath. and tomorrow im getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out. hopefully i dont lose my smarts!

ETIDAre you guys still fans of heavy music, or do you guys spend your time listening to just about anything else? It seems to me that so many bands that tour allot seem to remove themselves from the music they them self play with something a little bit different?
i dont listen to anything heavy, really. once in a while ill listen to certain bands for nostalgic purposes but for the most part i like upbeat music. alot of modest mouse lately. ryan adams.

Wh at is on your playlist/ipod theses days?
Like i just said, alot of modest mouse. i gave the new bjork a few listens to and nothing really grabbed me. the new spoon record is really good. as is the dear hunter

Whats the next big thing everybody should look out for?
My package

How was the Sounds of the Underground tour this year, did you stay on for the entire tour?
Yea we stayed on the whole thing. lets just say thank god for the guys in chimaira and darkest hour. if it wasnt for them i would have killed myself

Do you prefer bigger tours like Sounds of the Underground or going on your own tour?
Iprefer festivals, but not metal festivals. it gets so boring hearing the same solos all day every day. or the same stupid gimmicks. except for gwar. those guys fucking rule. i watched them all the time

What do you usually do in support of the album, tour, video, do crapy email interviews?

At least one crappy interview a day. haha

Anything to end this with, comments, or final message to the people of Iceland?

PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE bring us there. it is the one place in the world i have been irrationally obsessed with. ive never been there but for my graduation present 10 years ago my parents promised me a ticket there which ive yet to take them up on. shinfo.
